New Music Friday: Kathy Sabol, Elaina Christina, Jennie Angel
Hey y’all! Janelle here, covering New Music Friday in a fun little step-in for Ears Like a Hawke for Music On The Move Studios. Happy to get to throw on some newer tunes that we’ve gotten this summer and see what we’ll be grooving to by the pool in this way too hot weather!
Kathy Sabol – “Stop Me”
The introspective voice here will probably have you thinking a little too hard for a pool day, but it’s trumped by the relaxing nature of this sweet song. Harmonies will have you drifting a bit across the surface, and the wistful tone is its own bit of sunshine.
Kathy noted that this is the latest single from her anticipated July release, The Great Divide. Given this taste, the album will be one for your summer relaxation time for sure.
Elaina Christina – “Spirits and Ghosts”
This is the one for the end of the day, as the sun is setting and everyone’s getting a little dreamy and flowy from a long day outside. It’s meant to be dark and angry, but a bluesy feel and with soulful voice makes it dream-like. “…the strongest of spirits can’t kill off your ghost” delivers a self-reflection in search for strength in separating from those past feelings that will have you clutching onto a new anthem as you drift into those summer nights.
Jennie Angel - “Heart Felt”
Do you overthink things? Like, literally just see all the bad things that could happen, well before they ever have a possibility of happening? Yeah, Jennie Angel gets that. There’s a struggle inside, between the head and the heart, and you’re sitting there denying the thing that might be right because you’re just getting too logical about it all. With a solid beat to get behind, maybe you can let this song help you let it go, even if that leads you to move on.
