Vendor Feature: No Sass Creations by Mary Jennings
We are so excited to announce our first vendor for the March 20th showcase, No Sass Creations! If you’ve ever been to one of our showcases, this name should sound familiar to you. Mary Jennings was actually one of the first vendors we featured back in 2019 and has remained an incredible friend and loyal member of the Music on The Move community!
Not only that but Mary is an artist in her own right, working as a solo artist and in several different projects including Fame & Fiction, the band she shares with HellCats Lauren Horbal & Kels Cordare!
No Sass Creations are handmade bolo ties that are not only stunning but also unique! We chatted with Mary to learn more about her awesome creations!
1. Why did you start No Sass bolos?
I started making bolos because I wanted to wear them as part of my style as a musician. I could never find what I was looking for so I decided to create my own. I got so many compliments on them at shows that I started selling them as merch and from there it took off as its own business.
2. What does your creative process look like?
Hahaha well, iut looks pretty chaotic and frantic actually! I collect fun and interesting vintage pieces from estate sales, thrift stores, and flea markets. When I have time and am feeling inspired, I will sit down and convert these pieces from whatever they are (earrings, cufflinks, shoe clips, etc) into unique bolos.
3. What can shoppers expect from your shop at the showcase?
They can expect to find one or at most two of a kind bolos at my booth. If you love, I would go ahead and buy it because it is likely there will never b e another one like it again. :-)
4. Why did you get involved with Music on The Move?
Music on The Move has everything I believe in in one place; amazing music, wonderful craftsmanship, and all created by strong and powerful women. You can't beat that!
