New Music Friday: Noelle McFarland

Happy Friday! New music is here just in time for the weekend.

If you’ve been keeping up with us this week, then you won’t be surprised to see Noelle McFarland headlining our playlist with her freshly released single, ‘Joint Account’.

Based off a one-word prompt exercise she did with her partner, ‘Joint Account’ is a play on the idea of financial commitment and financial marriage, and all the implications that come with sharing a joint account with a romantic partner.

Full of singer-songwriter elements driven by a smooth, underlying groove, and highlighted with poignantly placed horns, this song will make you want to drive with the windows down and open yourself to the beauty of life’s possibilities.

To learn more about the story behind ‘Joint Account’ and get to know more about Noelle, check out her feature with Kate earlier this week, along with her episode on Paradox Jukebox with Caitie!

We’re also highlighting some great tunes from the rest of our showcase lineup on the playlist this week!

If you missed last week’s NMF, give ‘Trick Pony’ by Erin O’Dowd a listen! We’ve also got ‘Homebody’ by Teagan Stewart and ‘Slow Motion’ by Meg Rilley at the top of the playlist!

We’re so excited to have these talented artists performing with us at the showcase on March 20th! Get their songs into your rotation so you can sing along with us at The Basement East! To get your tickets, click the link below.

If you have music you’d like featured on the New Music Friday blog and playlist, submit your music to us in the contact section on our site!
