Behind The Scenes: Taping The Quinn Spinn
If you are not already aware of our friendship with the awesome humans over at Underground Music Collective, you’re about to be.
Gerard Longo, owner of Underground Music Collective, host of the official podcast of Underground Music Collective, The Quinn Spinn, AND ALSO the marketing director for Music on The Move Studios, graciously invited myself along with the entire lineup of the showcase to be on The Quinn Spinn. There, we discussed our experiences as women in the music industry, what it’s like to be everything, everywhere, all at once, (#Oscars, amiright?) as an independent artist, and the illustrious question, What would Kevin do?
You can go listen to the podcast in it’s entirety over at The Quinn Spinn, today we’re going to be talking about what it’s like to actually film and record a podcast.
While most podcasts before the era of filming everything don’t always pump out video content, The Quinn Spinn (celebrating it’s 10 years in existence this year by the way!) takes it to the next level with an entire set. On top of making sure the audio was perfect, Gerard also had to make sure the lighting and where we were sitting so we could all be seen was ideal as well.
Once we got started recording the episode and got the essential pleasantries out of the way (Who are you, what do you do, and why on earth are we on the podcast??), Gerard simply allows us to share our stories and experiences.
We weren’t just there to promote the showcase or give our musical backstories. You can hear the behind the music stories over at Paradox Jukebox. We were there to also share the experience of being a woman in the music industry and while it’s different for everyone, many women have shared experiences with different instances.
We so appreciate Gerard giving us the space to do something like this and we cannot wait for everyone to hear the episode!
