New Music Friday Playlist: Juxtaposing Jams

We all love a healthy dose of duality and this week’s featured songs couldn’t be any more different in their energy! Read on to learn more about this week’s picks, and click the picture to listen these juxtaposing jams!

Here at Music on the Move Studios, we have the pleasure of not only featuring incredible artists but all of us here have music careers of our own as well, and the song kicking off this week’s playlist hits close to home for us. Ele Ivory’s ‘Ten Year Town’ is a raw, vulnerable depiction of the struggle to remain hopeful in the pursuit of “hitting it big” in the music industry in Nashville. Its lamenting strings and steady plodding of the piano parallels the waning drive many aspiring artists face daily. For those days when you need to exhale a little deeper after a long day of the grind, ‘Ten Year Town’ is the musical medicine you’ll crave. Pour yourself a cup of tea, curl into the fetal position, let it out and put this song on repeat. We promise, after an hour, you’ll feel washed clean and be ready to get back at it again!

Sometimes, though, crying it out just doesn’t cut it and dancing it out works so much better! If that’s the case, we’ve got you covered with this week’s other fantastic feature. Summer Belt’s ‘Gemini’ is an upbeat, pop rock anthem that’s sure to get your blood pumping and energy flowing! Written as an ode to an unpredictable lover, its pounding drums, distorted guitars, and growling chorus will send you reeling in a whirlwind of adrenaline!

Let us know on our socials what you think of these tunes and tell us who should be featured next!
