Music on The Move Showcase Submissions Are Open: What We’re Looking For
Hey Y’all! Erin, here! I get asked this question, a lot.
While we have an FAQ page to help you know a little more about our showcases and who we’re looking for, we decided to give you a little more context in to the 3 main characteristics we’re looking for!
Originality
Obviously we hear a lot of artists coming through our speakers and with being in Nashville, we get inundated with even more music on the daily. Yes, you are an original, unique human being and we love you for that! However, what makes your music stand out? We want you to submit to us your best songs that show off you as an artist, not just what you think we want to hear. Trust me, we’ve heard it all. Show us YOU!
Something that can be played with The all-female house band, The HellCats
We’re an all-genre showcase and we welcome everyone! We’ve had pop, country, rap, R&B, Americana, Latin, rock, and more! If your music is highly produced and can’t be recreated (well) with a 3-4 piece live band, it’s probably not a good fit for our show. HOWEVER, if you’re someone who plays an instrument like piano, synth, guitar, or you know how to make your music work with our set up, tell us! We love to hear new & interesting ways to make this showcase a one-of-a-kind experience!
Show(wo)manship - See what I did there? (…I’ll see myself out.)
We look at your socials, especially your live performances. We want to see & hear what you’re like live! While age and experience are not factors, every artist has to be 21+ to perform. We want to make sure what you sent us matches what you produce on stage in any capacity. (This is pretty much true for any live performance submission, by the way.) Added bonuses go to anyone who has a solid stage presence. We’re not expecting a fully choreographed dance routine by ANY means (TBH, we wouldn’t be able to keep up!) just be entertaining to watch and listen to!
We are SO looking forward to hearing everyone’s submissions and discovering new artists! If you have any questions about your submission or about the showcases, you can refer either to our showcase page, our FAQ page, or shoot us an email!
